Previous projects
Twenty years ago, from August 2003 to August 2004, Cally (already living in Buckinghamshire) and Tineke Bruijnzeels (then living in France) each made a drawing every day, and posted the drawings to each other in weekly batches of seven. The rules they set were that the drawings should be observational, on vertical format A6 paper, using any kind of drawing medium. The drawings were exhibited at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College, High Wycombe, England.
Ten years later, from August 2013 to August 2014, Cally (still in Buckinghamshire) and Tineke (then living in Switzerland) did a similar project, with the additional element that they invited guest artists to participate. Each guest joined Cally and Tineke for one week. A new rule was introduced: that all three artists (Cally, Tineke and the guest artist) would each choose their own theme/subject for the week, and follow that for all seven drawings. The resulting work was exhibited at OpenHandOpenSpace in Reading, England, and at the Galerie d'Anières, Switzerland.
From August 2018 to August 2019, and then again from August 2019 to August 2020, Cally (still in Buckinghamshire) and Tineke (in Switzerland and later on in the Netherlands) each took a digital photograph every week and emailed it to each other. Cally's photographs were on the theme of artists' hands, and Tineke's were on the theme of Circles. The first year's photographs were exhibited at South Hill Park Arts Centre, Bracknell, England, and the second year's work was exhibited at Cornerstone Art Centre, Didcot, England.
